episode two of "styled by" which was recently featured on hypebeast features singer-songwriter slash dj, yasmin. yasmin's been traveling back and forth to hong kong for a little while now playing at some of the cities biggest parties, and on her latest visit we got together to produce the next episode of the series. she was staying for a little while so lucky for me she had a decent amount of her wardrobe in town. was definitely feeling her extremely soft leather biker jacket and her weed tee, which suits her perfectly.

i've been working on a test series called "styled by" for sometime now, i basically go into the wardrobes of creatives i admire and style them based on their personal style, with each video giving a look into the personality and style of the individual featured.
i started it in sydney with my homie at 'myson ichiban' and have finally started the hong kong edition with my mate anderson.

next up in the hong kong edition of the "styled by" video series is my homegirl yasmin, a dj and singer/songwriter from the uk.

i first met yasmin back in april or may of 2013 when the crew at fob (fresh off the boat) held their rock the bells party at fly nightclub. of course it was a dope night and yasmin got a taste for the hong kong party scene and has been a frequent visitor ever since, she pretty much lives in hong kong now! recently, she played alongside hip-hop heavy weights pusha t and pharrell at hong kong's latest music festival curated by pharrell williams, "blohk party". she's now been back and forth a few times and on her last stint, we decided to collab and film the next episode of the series.

twenty thirteen

twenty thirteen was a rad year for me, i met a lot of amazing people and formed some really great friendships. i collab'd with friends through styling, but i was also able try different things creatively with art directing and consulting on projects as well. i managed to do more with video and began filming the hk edition of my video test series "styled by" which i'm really excited about launching in 2014! i started a monthly street style feature with 'boom' magazine asia, and i even jumped in front of the camera a few times modeling for look books and editorials - still weird to do that though.

it's been a long time coming but finally the third installment of the "styled by" series is out! once again myson ichiban delivers on a rad vid featuring my homie aids a.k.a sprinkles who is an amazing graff and tattoo artist as well as a former b-boy. check the moonwalk below.

black on black... on black

another small tease on an upcoming feature on the "styled by" series is morgan. so where to start with morgan, she's got awesome taste in music, which helps since she's a dj, plus she has an amazing eye which helps since she's a photographer too. she can be pretty hood, and is always heaps fun. she's one of my dearest friends, my little fake asian sister. all reasons why she was an obvious choice for the series.

styling morgs actually proved to be a little bit of a challenge, but was definitely enjoyable. she is quite video camera shy (which similarly to me is why we like to work behind the scenes), and since my moving to hk almost 2 years ago, her wardrobe seems to have gone through some drastic changes and has lost the majority of colour and print it once had, leaving me with an abundance of black, on black…. on black. needless to say, the shoot turned out dope and i'm really happy with the footage tyson got. can't wait to see the final edit.

it was heaps of fun being able to catch up, so much fun that i got completely distracted and forgot to take photo's on the day, only managed to get one look. so here it is, a little teaser shot for whats in store. 

  

sprinks

so i've been m.i.a for a little as i went to sydney for a little getaway. had to escape the hustle of hk for a bit.

on my trip i linked up with my mate tyson from myson productions again and we decided we would extend our "styled by" video series as it is receiving a great response.

my homie aidan, otherwise known in the art world as "sprinkles" was the next on the list of creatives i wanted to feature. aidan is a dope artist and tattoo artist, i've known him for many years now and watched him develop. it's awesome seeing his progression from lettering to paste ups to full blown murals featuring stylized animals with his signature maine of hair and beads. he's definitely come into his own and you can really see his signature style coming through not only in his artworks, but in his tattoo designs also.

part two of the "styled by" series i've been collaborating on with myson productions is now finished, once again tyson did an amazing job with this vid. each time truly showing the personality of the subject.


i decided to feature my homie jordan in this new episode, he's a young cat from new zealand who love's to run around and backflip off of any surface. straight ninja. sounds like he would be a crazy sort of dude but he's actually real chill, exactly the type of personality i wanted to include in this next vid. it really gives you insight into the laid back lifestyle my mates and i live(d) in sydney. have to admit, i really miss it.

on my latest trip to sydney i linked up with my mate tyson of myson productions to collaborate on a 4 part series entitled "styled by".

the four part series styled by myself utilises each individuals' wardrobe to ensure their true personalities are conveyed in the film. it's my take on their own individual style and character. 

part 1 features my homegirl, dj georgia.
