running the streets

it's been raining quite a lot lately which has made it extremely difficult to plan a location shoot in hk. luckily, the sun decided to come out for a day so i managed to get the s/s13 look book for design/lifestyle/fashion space 'konzepp' underway.

it was pretty rad as i had 2 of my good friends model for it, jordy and nat. it makes the day so much easier working with friends, it does't really even feel like work, just chilling. we wandered the streets of sheung wan, a cool little neighbor hood that always seems to surprise me, there's just so many dope hidden spots to shoot.

check out some behind the scenes shots i took below.

the streets is watching

a few months ago i was asked to take to the streets in hk and snap some street style shots for spanish brand "pull & bear". the brand chose one person from a few major cities in the world to participate and take snaps for their coming campaign/competition.

it was something pretty different for me playing the role of the photographer, but the brand decided on choosing a stylist for hk as they trusted my eye and taste. i was quite flattered and decided to give it a go.

it was a pretty dope experience, i shot a few of my friends that i think have great style, as well i had the chance to meet a lot of creative and stylish people. it was really interesting speaking to them about their choices in clothing etc.

check out the shots below for a few of my favorite looks.

style jam with electric sekki

the other day i participated in a style jam hosted by electric sekki - a distribution and fashion bureau based in hk.

each style jam features people with unique style that the team at electric sekki support and  appreciate. they're are no strangers to showing their continued support to many talented creatives in hk.

on the day i had to style a few looks with pieces from the available collections, i didn't really know how i was going to approach it, whether i would style looks catered towards my own personal style, or style it as though i was pulling looks for an editorial shoot. in the end i decided i was going to do a bit of both, focus on my own style but just have a bit more fun with it. give it some "pizazz" as my homie trizzy would say.

how i met your style

one of the great things about hong kong is that you get to meet some really creative and talented people. there's so many people traveling through on holiday or for work, and sometimes they don't want to leave and decide to stick around.

i had the pleasure of meeting carmen a little while ago now, she's one half of hong kong based blog "how i met your style" and is an amazing photographer who has shot portraits of alexander wang, isabel marant, and diane von furstenberg just to name a few. i love her work, she's definitely one of my favorites so it's only natural i asked her to take some photo's for me! everything was photographed on film which was a very different experience for me, i had to put full trust in her that everything would turn out, and of course everything did.

check out the shots below.

harris tweed x urbanears

for the past 6 months or so i have been using headphones by stockholm's urbanears, it took me a while to find a pair i really liked, but finally came across these goodies.

i actually never realized how picky i was when it came to headphones, i've never been really good with the ear plug styles as for some reason they continually fall out of my ears, so i always go for the option of wearing them on my head, only issue with that was i always found when a brand made a style like that, they went way to big and it felt like i was rocking a princess leia hair cut.

urbanears are the perfect size for me, they're pretty dope, simple design, but more importantly they sound great. i recently received another pair, a special edition piece from the extremely popular "plattan" line - harris tweed x urbanears.

check them out below, as well as another goodie i picked up recently, this givenchy septum ring. it's a pretty gnarly piece, but i love it.
