boom - on the street - blohk party

"blohk party", the biggest music festival in hong kong happened in december of last year, it was a dope event curated by pharrell williams and featured performances from the man himself, as well as pusha t, steve aoki, breakbot and grandmaster flash just to name a few. i was at the event snapping some styles for boom magazine in this latest "blohk party" street style edition. check out the shots below as well as a little video recap of the event by the homies at hypebeast and anderson ko.

yasmin - styled by...

episode two of "styled by" which was recently featured on hypebeast features singer-songwriter slash dj, yasmin. yasmin's been traveling back and forth to hong kong for a little while now playing at some of the cities biggest parties, and on her latest visit we got together to produce the next episode of the series. she was staying for a little while so lucky for me she had a decent amount of her wardrobe in town. was definitely feeling her extremely soft leather biker jacket and her weed tee, which suits her perfectly.

i've been working on a test series called "styled by" for sometime now, i basically go into the wardrobes of creatives i admire and style them based on their personal style, with each video giving a look into the personality and style of the individual featured.
i started it in sydney with my homie at 'myson ichiban' and have finally started the hong kong edition with my mate anderson.

twenty thirteen

twenty thirteen was a rad year for me, i met a lot of amazing people and formed some really great friendships. i collab'd with friends through styling, but i was also able try different things creatively with art directing and consulting on projects as well. i managed to do more with video and began filming the hk edition of my video test series "styled by" which i'm really excited about launching in 2014! i started a monthly street style feature with 'boom' magazine asia, and i even jumped in front of the camera a few times modeling for look books and editorials - still weird to do that though.

freedom means many things to different people but it isn't always so black and white. often, it isn't about the destination or state of freedom itself, but the journey of self-discovery and breaking through personal boundaries and limitations.

I had the pleasure of once again styling the look book for lifestyle space, konzepp. was a dope day basically just chilling and hanging with good friends. was a different experience this time being both behind and in front of the camera.

come alive - teaser

hysteria mag from sydney approached me while they were in hong kong a couple of months ago and informed me about the new issue they will be releasing mid this month - the freedom issue.

initially i thought of freedom meaning you can do anything you want. i began to think about when i first started out in styling. when i did, one of the things that i was attracted to most was there was no boundaries to to your own concepts. you could go as crazy or as minimal as you wanted, you could do anything, there wass no right or wrong. you have complete creative freedom. i started thinking of all the possible ideas but kept coming back to one thing which i found was even more interesting, the actual process.

in the end, i decided instead of focusing on the theme of 'freedom' itself, to focus more on the journey someone takes to break free.
