sheung wan, hong kong

it's finally time to start wearing the winter threads again, it's not winter yet but it's definitely approaching fast. hong kong only ever has that in-between season for about 3 weeks, it's basically either hot or cold... and the cold has completely creeped up on me.

don't get it twisted, i love this time of year, as do most people who are into fashion. it's the typical answer of being able to do more with what you wear, more accessory options, the choice of layering different pieces and just being able to pile everything on. to be honest though, after living in hong kong for some time now i'm pretty much just looking forward to just being able to walk down the street and not break into a sweat. that, and i get to wear my beanies again.

seeing is believing

a few months ago i did a shoot for the fashionisto magazine, new york. the theme for the issue was darkness. my thought process was pretty straight forward, darkness - blind - can't see - obstructed vision, this basically led to the end result where i styled each look with the models eyes being covered/obstructed.

i had a great team involved, josephine (who i have been trying to organize a shoot with for some time and we finally made it happen!), ryan, martin, and my homie cam who was in town visiting. The shoot turned out dope, i'm heaps happy with it.

you can pick up a copy of the new fasionisto mag at http://magazine.thefashionisto.com

t-doggy

one of the things i love about my job is i often get to repeatedly work with my good friends. recently i shot with my homegirl tina, and once again had the pleasure to shoot with her for a hong kong mag.

the last time tina and i shot together it was extremely casual and natural, so this time around i wanted to go the other way and style something quite sleek, still on that sports tip but just clean and sharp, lot's of black and white.

check out some shots of t-doggy that i took behind the scenes.

central, hong kong

today i headed to the galerie perrotin for the launch of "pattern" by french artist, jr. the weather has been great and nowhere near as humid as usual, it's finally bearable to stay outdoors so i decided to actually walk to the venue and get out of my shorts.

i've been rocking a lot of print and pattern lately so decided to go back to basics, a plain tee and these colour blocked pants from insight, definitely one of my favorite pieces they've done.

the exhibition was cool, it's pretty rare to be able to participate in a project when at the show. attendees lined up for poster sized portraits which they were encouraged to post up around the city, a nice little added touch by the artist. another cool thing was when looking out at the view, you were able to see the recent work the artist did in hong kong on top of the ifc walkway. but the stand out for me was definitely the work jr did in the favelas, so dope.
